Jalapeño Bacon-Wrapped Tots with Cheese Sauce

Makes 24 Servings

Takes 45 Minutes

Cheese Sauce:

2 tablespoons butter

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon ground black pepper

2 cups whole milk

1 cup grated Monterey jack cheese

Tater Tots:

Vegetable oil

1 lb. HORMEL® BLACK LABEL® Premium Jalapeño Bacon, cut each slice into 3 ½-inch lengths

24 frozen tater tots, thawed


For Cheese Sauce:

In medium saucepan on medium heat, melt butter. Add flour, salt, and pepper, whisking over medium heat 1 minute. Add milk gradually while whisking. Heat to boiling. Add cheese until melted. Serve warm.

For the tater tots:

In large saucepan over medium heat, heat oil to 375°F. Roll slice of bacon around each tater tot. Secure with wooden pick. Cook each tater tot in oil 2 minutes, or until bacon is crisp. Serve with warm cheese sauce for dipping.
